Working at Joules
What attracted you to Joules and why did you choose to work for us?
I liked that Joules looked completely different from any other brand that I saw on the high street. It’s bold, bright and has some great prints.
Tell us about a typical day…
Most of the time I am based in our Covent Garden Showroom where I work with and help manage some of our key stockists nationwide. This ranges from selling them future collections that they will stock, to working with their orders and understanding how they work as a company.
What's the best thing about working at Joules?
With my job I get to see future products sometimes 7-8 months before they are landing in stores which is amazing as I get to see what styles, prints and colours are up and coming.
What’s been your biggest achievement so far?
This year I made it into the Drapers Top 30 under 30 which my boss nominated me for. I was completely taken back and feel so amazed and overwhelmed with this achievement; very proud of myself!
What qualities make someone successful at Joules?
Communication – not just within your team but with all the people you meet within the company. Interest within all areas of the business is key and will help with some great understanding and progression.
What do you think makes Joules unique as an employer?
Everything we do from print design, marketing to photography is all managed in house within Joules which is very rare for a company. This is a brilliant aspect that makes the company special and unique.
What would your advice be to someone considering joining Joules?
Work hard and take every opportunity you are offered; I started off in one of our retail stores as a shop assistant and since then I have come a long way and am very thankful that I was given the chance to do some really great things.
A bit more about you...
What is your favourite film or book?
I absolutely love 'The Hunger Games' books and movies, just can’t get enough of them.
What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on?
When I was 16 I went on a netball, hockey and rugby tour to New Zealand for a month with my school sports teams. It was an amazing experience and loved every second of it.
What’s the best present you’ve ever received?
When my parents bought me and my siblings our first family dog, she was a beautiful spring spaniel called Maisie. I have fallen in love with dogs ever since.
