What attracted you to Joules and why did you choose to work for us?
I was attracted to Joules as they were a local business who seemed to really care about their employees and growing their own, and of course the beautiful product.
Tell us about a typical day…
My key role is to ensure that all communication to our stores is done effectively and efficiently. A typical day might involve pulling together our weekly retail newsletter, giving all of our retail stores their focus for the week and any relevant trading information. I may be catching up with our key business partners such as marketing to ensure any communications to stores are actioned appropriately, or we could be working on an incentive for our stores, driving them to increase on their KPI’s over a peak trading period.
What's the best thing about working at Joules?
My team. The people that I work with on a daily basis make coming to work fun, interesting and challenging and they have helped me to grow within my role here at Joules.
What’s been your biggest achievement so far?
Every year, we hold two meetings where all of our store managers come together to celebrate the previous year. We hear from key people within the business, view the beautiful product for the season ahead, and come together for a dance in the evening. This is a great opportunity for everybody to feel focused and motivated and then go back to their stores to pass on to their teams.
What qualities make someone successful at Joules?
Hard working, an interest in fashion and the drive to want to help grow the business.
What do you think makes Joules unique as an employer?
We operate as one team, constantly learning from each other. As an employer they really champion growing their own giving you opportunities to grow within the business.
What would your advice be to someone considering joining Joules?
Work hard and be passionate.
A bit more about you...
What is your favourite film or book?
My favorite film would have to be '10 Things I Hate About You', such a classic teen film with a great soundtrack.
What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on?
Last year I spent a week on the Isle of Skye in Scotland which was genuinely the best holiday I have ever been on. I saw wild sea eagles, deer and even a humpback whale!
What’s the best present you’ve ever received?
For my 21st birthday my mum gave me a beautiful antique 1920’s necklace. It is so beautiful and priceless to me that I am afraid to wear it! I think secretly I am saving it for my wedding day whenever that may come!
